Community building and engagement is our number one priority. We work hand in hand with the City of Austin and other non-profits to promote health awareness and provide a stage for the public to promote important causes. We utilize celebrities and people with large influence to share inspiring messages.
Established in 1997 and led by teens, Jump On It’s uniqueness lies in our ability to engage thousands of people by fusing live entertainment, education, games, market place and workshops weekly for the entire summer.
During its years of operation Jump On It averages 1500-3000 people weekly (peaking at 10,000) making it one of the largest, if not the largest outdoor urban concert series in Texas. Jump On It’s civic engagement has become a tradition that people utilize, participate and depend on.
The Executive Director, NOOK, established a youth committee in 1997 that formulated the vision and goal of an event with great promise. As a guide and mentor, Mrs. Dororthy Turner instilled in the committee an unwavering capacity and need to do things right.
Welcome to JOI Community Outreach! The mission of Jump On It is to rebuild the fabric of Austin's urban community while creating a platform to educate and prepare tomorrow's leaders!
JOI Community Outreach works within the community to reach our teens and provide them with opportunities to expand their knowledge on skills that will shape their future!
In recent news, JOI Community Outreach is starting a "90 in 90" fundraiser, with the goal of getting .90 cents from 100,000 people in 90 days beginning March - June 2017.
The Fundraiser will raise funds to expand our Extended Education Program, helping teens to harness their entreprenuerial spirits and to participate in positive activity in the community.
Support JOI Comunity Outreach as we continue to work in the community to reach the teens who strive to achieve their full potential. JOI Community Outreach can provide verification of community service hours.
